Five Recruiting Tips for Summer Camp

Every year high school players gear up for Spring Football and Summer Camps. However, the question has to be asked if players should go to summer camp? College Coaches are sending camp invites out right now, and players are getting geared up for this summer. Here are 5 tips for recruits to get ready for summer camp:

  1. Recruits definitely should go to summer camp - Many colleges will not sign players that do not come to their summer camp, so it is imperative that players attend.

  2. Recruits should go to camps where they are receiving interest - Even though you may be a fan of a certain team, base your camp attendance on where coaches are showing interest in you, not just who you cheer for.

  3. Camp is a Business Interview - You can use camp to learn, but know that the coaches are using camp to evaluate you. Unfortunately, most kids get marked off the list. Show up ready to compete and do your best.

  4. Run your best 40 in the Summer - Don’t go to camp and run a bad 40 time! That time will stick with you forever. Coaches talk and if you run a bad 40 yard dash time, they will all find out! Train and run your best time this summer.

  5. Don’t camp at your dream school first - Go to a camp and get some of the nerves worked out. Learn what’s expected and how to test well! Then go perform well where you really want to be!
